MEET CHEZZI, A DEDICATED MUM AND CONTENT CREATOR.

Explore more and connect today!

Cheryl Denyer, widely known by her nickname Chezzi, has built a multifaceted career across media, television, and radio. Growing up, Cheryl wasn’t fond of her name, feeling it was too common. It wasn’t until her time working at Sunrise that her nickname Chezzi was coined by a producer, and it stuck ever since. Today, Chezzi lives on a 27-acre farm outside Bathurst, NSW, with her husband, Grant, and their three daughters, Sailor, Scout and Sunday.
Chezzi’s professional journey began at 15 when she worked at a local radio station. She later transitioned to television, where she spent years at Sunrise, quickly rising through the ranks to become a producer. During her time there, she played an integral role in engaging with viewers through the show’s Soapbox segment and coordinating fan events. Her work highlighted the impact television can have, providing comfort and connection to viewers, particularly those facing challenging times.
In addition to her media career, Chezzi has worked in a variety of fields, from politics at NSW Parliament to retail and even as a national park ranger. Now, as a freelance producer and mother of two, she balances life on the farm with raising her children while her husband is often on the road. Her story is one of versatility, adaptability, and an ever-present sense of adventure.

SOCIALS

  • Every week Mum and I have been attending special pottery classes with Jennie from @heart_forclay

Mum has early onset Alzheimers Dementia which has devastated our family.. but we choose to look at the silver lining that is spending as much quality time together as we can…

And Mum once was very creative…
Naturally talented at art although she would deny it.

She taught herself how to make bread wreaths and folk arted her way through our entire house at one time. Many memories of quilted tissue boxes and photo frames adorning the kitchen bench.. .. but then life got in the way.. and she stopped.

And watching her enjoy pottery each week, and the tactile experience of creating something from clay has been really healing and restorative.

I’ve even attempted to create some bowls and plates on the spinning pottery wheel. And yes, they all look lopsided and special - a little like me I guess 🫠 😂 #itsharderthanitlooks

And I want to make special mention to Jennie for being such a brilliant and lovely and patient teacher. She’s also an incredible artist and has a whole array of gorgeous little creations for sale in her studio. I bought Mum a little dog because she fell in love with it and its bright red collar. Special gifts indeed. You can check them out on her page or at her studio in Bathurst.

xoxo

Ps - Alzheimers sucks. It’s such a cruel condition. Much love to anyone going through this with a loved one at the moment.
  • Oh boy, have I been busy…
I’ve been working away at something big… and it’s not what you’re expecting. It’s bold, deeply personal, unexpected, and might just blow your mind.

To celebrate, here’s a small poem I wrote about the power of being a woman! I hope it speaks to you too.
